Logistics and planning are well underway for Battle for Breath 2025! We’ve moved our annual cadence of hosting in November to June and we’re expanding this year with more events, a bigger raffle, and some other extras we’ll announce closer to the date!

We decided to move the event to June for the following reasons;
More Gaming Space: The curling club is closed during the summer months and the rink surface is available for us to host the events on
Easier Parking: During the summer months the universities have less students and events going on as such there will be ample space for parking at the venue
Access to Entire Venue: There will be no other events happening at the venue on this date, as such players will have lots of space to relax between rounds.
FAQ
How do we register for an event?
This year (and going forward) you will be required to pay in prior to being able to secure a spot in an event. This enables us to have the cash needed for deposits with our vendors up front, and avoid people squatting on spots that aren’t serious about attending.
After paying for your ticket, you will be emailed details on how to submit lists and register for the event. Payment secures you your spot, and you have until Friday, May 23rd, 2025 to request a refund.
How will we pay for tickets?
Event tickets will be paid for using the KW Wargaming Guild’s online shop at https://buymeacoffee.com/kwwargamingguild/extras, tickets will be listed there for purchase on Sunday, January 19th, 2025
What if I need to cancel after Friday, May 23rd, 2025?
We understand sometimes things come up, however we also have fixed costs in planning these events. If you request a refund after Friday, May 23rd, 2025, it will be up to the host’s discretion to honor it based on whether they have a waitlist for the event where someone can take your spot.
When you say “players will have lots of space to relax between rounds” what does that mean?
Our plan is for all the gaming to occur on the concrete rink surface (we’re renting tables and chairs) for all events. That leaves the bar area and the viewing deck available for you to retreat to a quieter location between rounds (or if you finish early) to have some food and grab a beer. We will have the hall (where we used to hold games) setup for the raffle and some extras that we’ll be announcing closer to the event.
