As of today (August 1st 2024) we have officially incorporated the guild as a Not-For-Profit organization in Ontario.
The full official name of the organization is; KW Wargaming Guild.
What does this mean?
- The club can apply for grants or other funding sources
- We can qualify for discounts offered to NFP organizations
- We can setup dedicated banking and avoid anyone having to personal manage cash flows
With the incorporation comes some governance requirements, the first being that we have a minimum of three directors, our initial set of directors are;
- Alex Millar
- Scotty Milne
- Patrick Miller
The directors are responsible for ensuring good governance of the guild.
Over the coming months we will put together a plan and several proposals for members to review and provide feedback on. Our focus will be to;
Stability: Update our financial model and determine how much of a cash reserves we need to maintain to weather any storms.
Growth: Low cost projects we can implement to increase membership.
